LP Thuat Pert Loke Wat Sakae, Ayuthya

I have many pieces of LPT Pert Loke. This is an evergreen piece. It is probably the 4th or 5th pieces that i use to own. Condition is superb. It is my believe that everyone that likes LP Thuat should have at least something made by Ajarn Tim, Ajarn Nong, LP Daeng and LP Doo. They are the top monk known for making LP Thuat for years.

LP Doo is well known for making few things. LP Thuat pert loke, LP Thuat Ring, Phra Phrom, Mahasedtee, Pidta etc. For details, refer to my previous post.

Sai Pradoo (School of Pradoo) - LP Glan, Ajarn Heng, LP Sie, LP Doo

Sai Pradoo is well known for wicha Saiyasart for a long time. Originate from pre-war master LP Glan (Wat Phayat, Ayuthya). LP Glan used to win over other master guru in meditation and concentration competition which made him well known and last time any monk that were keen to learn Wicha saiyasart would have to go to Sai Pradoo.

Many people know about Wat sakae due to its phra phrom. But not many know that Wat Sakae has the lineage from Sai pradoo. Wat Sakae is known in thailand for its Phrom. A top famous master for this is Ajarn Heng, a senior disciple of LP Glan, Wat phayat, Ayuthya.

In 2480s, Ajarn Heng designed the first 3-dimensioned , 4 faced buddha on a 2 dimensional platform. And it is an instant hit with many guru monk today still following this design.

LP Sie and Ajarn Heng had the same master, which was LP Glan. Both learned Wicha under this great guru. LP Sie was junior to Ajarn Heng and later on learned the making of 4-face buddha under Ajarn Heng. In fact, most of Ajarn Heng's phrom which cost > 500k THB now was jarned by LP Sie. And LP Sie was in most ceremony helping out with the making and consecration ceremony. After Ajarn Heng passed away in 2503, LP Sie took over and produced phrom in similar design and also other design currently famous. Refer to my other post on LP Sie's phrom.

LP Doo of Wat Sakae is another master monk of Phra Phrom. He used to be a wicha saiyasart practitioner before fully into Dhamma and meditation. Master is well-known for phrom making using olden days Ajarn heng method and also pert loke which many claims to be effective as he is one of the the rare one that can communicate with LP Thuat directly.

Sharing a nice piece of LP Thuat By LP Doo. This is the pert loke batch made popular by LP Doo. Widely known as open the world batch. The only difference is that this is nur phong, whereas the famous one is made of metal (copper, silver, lead, gold). Price is 1/4 of metal piece but same effect and equally sacred lp thuat made by LP Doo. Why not?

Phra Phrom LP Doo Nur Pasom

Sharing another piece of LP Doo, Wat Saket popular phra phrom.

LP Doo is from the lineage of AC Heng and LP Si that made the most expensive phra phrom in Thailand. The ngern metal stamp cost 100,000 thai baht. This phra phrom made by lp doo, in 2522 is of great condition. With jarn written by lp doo clearly seen on surface of the back of amulet. Not all metal phra phrom have "mee" code on the side. without code it costs only 17000 baht. but this one has code. No code one are not made by lp Doo. But other temple pass to him for giving to devotees. This piece the code is deep n clear.

For nur pasom, the more yellow it is, means more brass and thus it will be more expensive. if more red, means more copper. thus price lower. if copper only, price only 25000 baht.Total phra phrom metal made 10,000 pieces. there are copper, mix (nur pasom) and brass. Copper cheaper and brass most expensive.

Seldom seen such a nice piece. Somdej made of candle wax of chanting ceremony, sacred lp doo powder etc. Early batch Made about 2510.

Pert loke - 2532 by LP Doo (Wat Sakae), Ayuthya

My 2nd and 3rd piece of LP Doo Pert loke. 2532. Details i won't describe much. Refer to initial post of LP Doo Pert loke.

These two pieces the skin and condition are even better than my 1st piece. champion of the champions. :)

First batch Pidta-l.p. doo wat sakae (2nd placing)

Sharing a piece of pidta made / casted by lp doo of wat sakae.

Brass material, 2526, kun klanid pidta yant yong.

L.p. doo is famous for his phra phrom, pert loke lp thuat and mahasedtee rein. But not many know that his pidta yantyong is equally good.

Both for wearing or collection. Why?

1. Very limited made. Some say 80, some say 90. But confirm made less than 100. For brass material. There are other material such as nawa,  measure etc. Those have more quantity n price cheaper by half.

2. This pidta made with wax casting method. Follow olden days method of how pidta was made in wat nang (l.p. eam) and wat thong (l.p. tub). Both of these are top 5 pidta in Thai worth million now (certain Pim).

3. All hand made. No two piece Similar. Unique n very cute looking especially for braas material version.

Btw, this piece got a second placing or 1st cant remember in an amulet competition last dec.

Mahasedtee Rein - LP Doo

Mahasedtee Rein (Rich man coin)

Who doesn't want to be rich? :) No wonder this is one of the most popular rein made by LP Doo (Wat Saket) after Phra Phrom and Pert Loke.

Sharing above is a normal pim in reasonably good condition. Still can see red skin on certain area. And jarn written by Luang Lum Dum (Disciple of Lp Doo) is visibly seen behind.

It is said that wearer will not suffer from poverty and enjoy great business success. Looks like I have to wear it myself to experience this :)

Copper is the cheapest among the lot. and Silver is more expensive than nawa and Takua even though it was made more than them. Price ranges from 100,000-150,000 for a silver one. and Gold needless to say, 500k thb up.

Lp thuat, Pert loke, lp doo, nur ngern , 2532, 4th placing

I have shared my pert loke copper some time ago. This is my silver version. Price more than 3x of copper pert loke. Produced at qty only 1036 pieces. Silver is softer than copper. Thus not easy to find a piece with this condition.

Can clearly see ajarn suparat jarn behind n easily authticated.

N because of limited supply, n huge demand, prices has gone high for past few years.. but still I think it is worth every penny to own a priceless phra produced by a monk I honoured n respect the most.

Hope I can save up to get the gold piece. :)

Just to add on, this piece got a 4th placing in yesterday (9/8) major competition.:)

1. Many amulets with hand written jarn issued by LP Doo of Wat saket. However, not all are handwritten by himself. So, if you observe carefully, you can see difference and authentic a LP Doo rein from the fake.

Takrut Made by LP Doo in Various Period

Sharing few different Takrut by LP Doo, Wat Saket. Not so popular among the dealers but they are well received by private collectors of LP Doo amulets. These takrut is good and very affordable. Especially good for metta and business and for meditation practitioners.

There are 2 codes 8cm (metal), single code 5cm (metal) and 8cm metal inserted with sacred powder and tied with nylon thread.

LP Thuat Pert Loke, LP Doo, 2532, thong daeng

Sharing my favourite piece of LP Thuat Rian made by LP Doo on 2532. One year before the master passed away. It is one of the most well known LP thuat made by LP Doo, widely known as "pert loke" means open the world.

A sacred rian with the portrait of Luang Phor Thuad embossed on the front side and name of Luang Poo Doo of Wat Sa-kae on back, together with the Thai number identified B.E.2532.

The followers of Luang Poo Doo revealed that Luang Poo Doo told them that while he was reciting the sacred spells to create the Rian Perdloke his mind could touch a miracle light that had penetrated into the three worlds (Heaven, hell and world of human being). This explains why it is called "open the world".

Hope one day i can have the nur takua and nur silver as well. But silver rian is worth 250,000 THB now an gold one can go up to 1 million THB.

This piece was wrapped with nice, thick gold. The gold case was made from famous goldshop in Supanburi (Boonlert); well known for workmanship and gold quality.

LP Doo (Wat Saket) Phra Phrom Nur Phong

Sharing this piece of nice LP Doo Phra Phrom Nur Phong. Make from powder and secred powder mixed together in 2519.


The original intention of making Phra Phrom nur phong is really for LP Doo's disciple or followers. It is not for sale. LP Doo gave to his students who meditate with him. Many people then make use of LP Doo's amulet especially powder type to put in their hand while meditation .This helps them to progress further, calm their mind and help them to concentrate while meditating.
There is also a story why LP Doo make this style of phra phrom with a buddha on top of the head.

Buddha wanted to teach Phra Phrom a lesson. He hide himself in Phra Phrom hair. Phra Phrom cannot find buddha even he use all his power. Buddha asked him to just look within himself and eventually he found buddha hiding in his hair. This story is repeated printed and told in many important buddhist scripture/book. LP Doo's student use this amulet for Buddhanusati (always think about buddha and his teaching) they put in their hand and pray.

The one shown above is of good quality and it is rarely found one in the market with many dharma-tarts on surface So much so that the face features can't be seen clearly. But it is really nice to see this under scope. and the back of the amulet resembles other powder type amulets made by LP Doo. So, it is "Doo ngai ngai" :)

Luang Poo Doo Biography

Luang Poo Doo
May 10th 2447 - Jan 17th 2533

Luang Poo Doo (officially called “Pra Prompunyo”) was born on May 10, B.E.2447 in Uthai District (Ayuttaya Province). His parents Mr.Put and Mrs.Puang were farmers. It seemed like he was destined to be a famous monk since the day he was born was one of the most important Buddhist days, called “Visakha Bucha Day” - a day to commemorate the birth, enlightenment and death of Lord Buddha.

CHILDHOOD:

Floating baby story

He was just a little baby when a strange thing happened on one rainy day. It was raining so hard that their house and all the surroundings were flooded. The parents was very poor and therefore aside from daily farming they were also making little snacks to sell at the downtown-market. On that day, while they were cooking, they suddenly heard the dogs barking loudly. When they came out to see what was going on they almost fainted because their little baby, Doo, was floating on the river, flushed away from the yard by the quickly growing stream. The baby was lying on a big pillow, which helped to save him from drowning and Mr. Put managed to bring the boy back home. However the incident made his parents believe that their baby had some magic power that had helped saving his life - otherwise he would have been killed by the wild river.

Poor orphan

Unfortunately Mr.Put and Mrs.Puang had no chance to see Luang Poo Doo ’s success in the priesthood as they both passed away around the time when Luang Poo Doo was just 4 years old. He had become a little poor orphan who was raised by his grand mother and sisters. They later sent him to be educated at Wat Pradoosong Dharma.

EDUCATION:

Luang Poo Doo had begun his education at Wat Pradoosong Dharma, where he was ordained as a novice. When he’s 21 years old (May 10, 2468), he was ordained as a Buddhist monk at Wat Sakae by another famous sacred monk named Luang Phor Klun, the abbot of Wat Pra Yatikaram (as well as Luang Poo Chai, the abbot of Wat Klang Klongsrabua and Luang Poo Dae, the abbot of Wat Srakae). After that he had moved to stay at Wat Sakae to continue learning higher levels of Lord Buddha’s Dharma as well as to spend the most of his life. Soon he started learnig Dhamma from many senior monks including Luang Phor Klun, Luang Phor Nueng, Luang Phor Chom, Luang Phor Rod and Luang Phor Pao. Particularly Luang Phor Klun had taught him about meditations, which was the most important science that would later helped him to become a famous magic-power expert, as well as Luang Por Pao, who was teaching him a lot of magic sciences which later helped to create sacred amulets to help protecting people from danger and evil.

MAGIC SCIENCE:

Luang Phor Doo, just like other sacred monks, tried to learn various magic sciences. To get the right experience he set out for travel to the deep forests in Karnchanaburi and Supunburi Province. He also stayed at the very respected sacred shrine “Pra Tandongrung”. It was recorded that at the time he was very interested in sacred tattooing, and got tattooed on the most of his body. However later, when he grown older, he considered that sacred tattooing was just a magic science that does not really help people being truly unleashed from the circle of creatures (comprising the birth, aging,, being ill and dying). That's why he had turned to be more interested in meditations, which was accepted as the best way to help developing the human soul to be purified and powerful enough to leave the circle.


MEDITATION AND OTHER SACRED TEACHINGS:

Actually Luang Poo Doo was really lucky because of his teacher Luang Por Klun, who showed him how to practice meditation by controlling his breath by both, the inhalation and exhalation. By the way, when he inhaled he would say “Buddh” and when exhaled he would say “Dho”. By the practicing his mind, one becomes to be more and more purified and his soul would get closer and closer to Lord Buddha. For ordinary people it isn't that simple because human hearts naturally lack the concentration. Sometimes you might be worried about your family, your children, your businesses etc, and therefore it is quite necessary to practice meditation at the right place and under a sacred control and help of monks. That’s the main reason for some people can be successful in meditation while others are not. All the people, who were led by Luang Poo Doo were really lucky because apart from the senior monk’s heartfelt dedications, his sacred power would also help to protect the peoples' souls from spirits that might try to obstruct or disturb them while they are meditating.

A spell to get rid of thieves story

There was annoying period when Wat Srakae was often visited by thieves who kept regularly stealing various things. LP Doo was trying to find a way to get rid of them and he had found the name of “Archarn Choti”, a famous ancient monk, who used to have a special spell that could help tu push the thieves away.

(note: Acharn Choti, was an ancient Buddhist monk who is famous in the Thai history. Around 250 years ago, when the Burmese armies had invaded the Kingdom of Siam(Thailand), Archarn Choti led a group of people in Bang-rajun Village, a group of villagers with almost no weapons to fight and kill Burmese invaders .)

Thus, LP Doo kept praying and asking Archarn Choti in his dreams for the spell, but there was no responses until several years after, when Luang Poo Doo almost forgot about the issue:
A young man visited Wat Sakae and was ordained a Buddhist monk by LP Doo, who had also helped teaching him to practice meditations. After some time this young monk approached LP Doo with an amazing question.
“Have you ever known Archarn Choti?” The question really surprised LP Doo since he had been waiting for many years for any response from the ancient sacred monk.
“Yes, I have.”, replied Luang Poo Doo.
“Archarn Choti had come to me in my meditations and wished to tell you that you should be interested in that sacred spell because these spells are black magic and it would hinder you from your future enlightement.”, said the young monk.
A lot of witnesses were present and could hear their conversation. They could also hear Luang Poo Doo saying: “Actually, I almost forgot about the spell already because too many years had passed. But eventually Archarn Choti gave me the answer through you.”

“Kumarn Hoo-tum” story

Luang Poo Doo was very famous for his simple way of teaching Lord Buddha’s Dharma. He would always tell an easygoing story that could be easily understood by the rustic local people to help them find the true instructions of Lord Buddha. One of his most famous story was called “Kumarn Hoo-tum”. The story was about a millionaire, who was mean and never wanted to pay money in any way even when his son named “Kumarn Hoo-tum” got seriously ill and needed some help. Eventually the boy died. Because of the mercy of Lord Buddha, before he had seen a miraculous light, caused by Lord Buddha’s sacred power. He recognised that the light Lord Buddha's mercy for all creatures. At that moment the boy fell to respect to Lord Buddha and after his soul had left his body he was born in heaven and was renamed to “Mutta Khuntasi Dhepbutra”, and blessed to stay in heaven forever.

Mercy for all

Luang Poo Doo was famous for his mercy for all creatures and everyone, who visited the temple, would be allowed to touch his mercy. LP Doo would never refuse welcoming them despite being very tired, after working hard all day.

IMPRESSIVE WORDS:

“Just only thinking of Lord Buddha’s mercy could cause you a lot of virtues. Therefore if you often remind yourselves of Lord Buddha, Dharma and Sangkha you would surely gain lots of virtues that would lead you to heaven after you have passed away.”, used to say LP Doo.

“If you want to be successful you must begin to do something, not just only waiting for miracle to help you. Lord Buddha is the best example, he went through everything - he suffered from various tortures before he could be enlightened and so should do all the creatures, if they want to follow Lord Buddha’s way. Just begin today, and success will be waiting for you indeed - sooner or later, it just depends how hard you’ve tried. ”.

WEAK HEALTH:

In around B.E.2527 Luang Poo Doo ’s health became worse. He had to visit the hospital several times, and was found to have a serious heart disease. Although it was suggested to him to stay at the hospital for many times until his heart becomes better, he refused and stayed at the Wat. He was simply felt so responsible for the Buddhism activities and all of his followers at the temple. LP Doo kept on hard working until the year B.E.2532. Lots of people were visiting the temple to listen to his teachings, without realising that the old monk was seriously ill. LP Doo never complained about his weakened health, he had just kept on teaching Lord Buddha’s Dharma to all visitors.
In the morning of January 16, B.E.2533, Luang Poo Doo welcomed the visitors with his face smiling as usual. No one seemed to be alerted that this famous monk would leave his body tomorrow. In the next morning ( January 17, B.E.2533, at 05.00 a.m.) the monks and novices in the temple found Luang Poo Doo passed away. He was 85 years and 8 months old. His body was buried during the official funeral under the King’s patronage on April 20, B.E.2534. He had served Buddhism for 65 years.
Although LP Doo has been away for more than 16 years, lots of people keep visiting Wat Sakae every year to organize a Buddhism ceremony dedicated to him and his work that helped to lead many people to successful ways of lives.

SACRED AMULETS:

Due to his reputation in possessing supernatural powers and mastering magic sciences, many people seek his amulets. Many stories about his amulets' supernatural power are circulating among Thai people (the amulets saved many lives and some of them also helped poor people to win lottery prices). Because of their brilliant reputation it is quite hard to get a genuine amulet by Luang Poo Doo. Besides the fact that there is always a huge lot of fakes at Thai amulet market, Luang Poo Doo made so many series of amulets that it is really difficult to remember and distinguish between the true and fake amulets.
The most famous of his amulets are probably the silver rings. They were made of 12.6 - gram gold and called Prohmpun-yo rings. Others are phra phrom and lp thuat.

Also, one of LP Doo ’s most famous series of sacred amulets was called “Rian Perdloke (= Open The World)” - a sacred coin with the portrait of Luang Phor Tuad embossed on the front side and on the sacred endorsement and the name of Luang Poo Doo of Wat Sa-kae on back, together with the Thai number identified B.E.2532 (which was the year that this series of amulets was made). The followers of Luang Poo Doo revealed that Luang Poo Doo would tell them them that while he was reciting the sacred spells to create the Rian Perdloke his mind could touch a miracle light that had penetrated into the three worlds.

Luang Poo Doo (Wat Saket) and amulets

The following is a translated article regarding pratard or dharmatart popularly found on luang poo Doo's amulets. The study was done by a PHD student and was written in his thesis on using amulets as a meditatin subject. And since he touches on LP Doo who is one of my favourite monks, i thought of sharg this to my followers :)

Luang Poo Doo or Phra Phrompanyothera was most renowned among meditation practitioners in Thailand because of the amulets that he made and supplied to his disciples for holding during meditation. There is a controversy surrounding these amulets. It involves crystallized calcium (Pratard or dharma Tard)of different shapes that emerges on the surface of the amulets after they have been used in meditation for a period of time.


There are two sides to this controversy. On the one hand, his disciples claim that what account for this phenomenon are sacred act of consecration which Luang Poo made and with which he blessed these amulets during their making. At the time , Luang Poo's mind is believed to be in the purest and holiest state that have the effect of purifying the calcium element in the amulets, turning them into crystals(Pra-Dhamma-Tard). The other side to this controversy, however, claims that the crystals are results those special materials intentionally added into these amulets during their making. These materials, according to them, were added to enhance the faith of meditation practitioners, thus helping them to better concentrate.


As a meditation practitioner and amulet collector I have tried to get to the truth of this controversy and after a long inquiry, a conclusion is reached that the crystallized calcium (Pra-Dhamma-Tard)found on the surface of Luang Poo's amulets actually emerges by itself, rather than artificially inserted.


One reason in support of this conclusion is that Luang Poo always relied on his disciples in the making of these amulets, particular in the filling-up process, so that if there was any intentional addition of foreign materials, there must have been a large number of witnesses to this. In addition to this, I and my meditation-practicing companion have visited Phra Ajarn Varongkot Viriyatharo, one of Luang Poo Doo's disciples, at his cave temple. Phra Ajarn Varongkot not only witnessed the making of these amulets himself while Luang Poo was still alive, but also has inherited the whole technique from him. My companion was so very impressed in Buddhist meditation that he decided to ordain as a monk and stay at the temple for two months. During this time, he occasionally saw and took part as a helper of Phra Ajarn Varongkol in producing (cement fill-up process) some amulets. At those special moments, he interceded with Luang Poo, asking for his permission to mentally dissect the filling up process in his meditation in order to get to the truth about the crystallized calcium(Pra-Dhamma-Tard).


The result s of this dissection were as follow: he found that in order for the crystallized calcium to appear on the surface of any amulet:



1. the amulet needs to have a minimal amount of Loung Poo Doo sacred powder that were made since Luang Poo was still alive,

2. it needs a degree of moisture

3. it needs a special power derived from holy and earnest prayers made by individuals practitioners.


When these three factors are present, the crystallized calcium (Pra Dhamma Tard )will emerge, but with different shapes depending on the constitution and manner in which each practitioner makes his prayer. This explains the fact that crystallized calcium(Pra Dhamma Tard) on Luang Poo's amulets cannot be forged. At worst, forgers can sprinkle on the amulets materials that look similar to such calcium and get the results that are far from looking genuine. At best, they may obtain the first and the second factors, namely, Luang Poo Doo sacred powder (may get from Luang Poo Doo broken amulet) and moisture, yet have to do without the pure and holy mind in prayers which is of first and foremost importance for the emergence of the crystals(Pra Dhamma Tard).


Finally, my companion also has taken an experiment in which he poured cement without Luang Poo Doo sacred powder into amulet moulds and put on moisture as in standard procedure. After getting the results, he then separated them from the lot so that they would not be consecrated apon by Phra Ajarn Varongkot as others. The hypothesis he was testing here was that if the crystallized calcium (Pra Dhamma Tard) is truly a result of a combination of cement and moisture, and not of secred powder and holiness of prayers, crystallized calcium (Pra Dhamma Tard) must appear on the surface of those amulets. Miraculously, none of calcium crystals (Pra Dhamma Tard) did appear on those amulets. This put the doubt to rest. My practicing companion now believes in the sacred and holy source of the crystals (Pra-Dhamma-Tard) found on Luang Poo Doo's amulets.


Readers may have different opinions to which they are entitled. So this article should be seen as my inquiry into one of the most asked questions about Luang Poo Doo's amulets to find answers that can satisfy meditation-practicing companions and amulet collectors.
