4th piece of LP Pu Somdej - 2nd Placing

 I have a lot of fate with LP Poo phim Taan Khu. It is not the most popular or most expensive phim. The most popular and expensive is phim Sae Yit. But I just keep coming across in my life. In the past I have owned Phim Taan Khu khen Klom and Khen Keap.

There are 4 pim of Taan Koo pattern (i.e. Khen Keap, Khen Kwang, Khen Hak Sork, Khen Klom). Most popular and expensive out of these 4 is pim Taan Koo Khen keap (narrow arm). However, it also depends on condition of amulet a lot, how it looks like, aging of the amulet.

The one shown here is Pim Taan koo khen Hak Sork. It looks very old with all the right features of LP Poo somdej. It is so easy to see. And I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. Many friends that saw it thought this is few hundreds years old. It is not. About 100 + years old.

Biography:
LP Pu is one of the only 2 disciples of Somdej Puttajarn Toh. Real and recorded in book of Wat Rakhang. Others like Ajarn Pa, LP Nak, LP Hin are all not disciples of Somdej Toh and has not learn from Somdej Toh before. He was the chief abbot of Wat Inn or Wat Bang kum prom during. Years ago, they were the same. 

The other one is Somdej Pilant who took over Somdej Putarjarn Toh as abbot of Wat Rakhang after Somdej Toh passed away. Both are still very much affordable as compared to Somdej made by Putarjarn Toh, Wat Rakhang.

In terms of material, huge amount of Somdej Toh powder were mixed to made this somdej. Hence, the material looks very much alike. Furthermore, this somdej is already close to 100 years ago. Thus, the texture, dryness etc looks alike. On the other hand, they are direct disciple of Somdej Toh. 

Thus, the closest replacement of Somdej Toh amulet are undeniably those phra made by either LP Pu or Pilant.

LP Pu was born in 2372 and passed away in 2476. He was 104 years old and had been a monk for 84 years. A very well respected monk during the olden days as he was from royal family of Thai Prime Minister equivalent back then.

Somdej Nai Phao Phim Hua Bai Sri (Wat Inn, 2495)

Sharing an excellent condition piece of somdej Nai phao, 2495, Wat Inn.

This is the most expensive and sough after pim for Somdej Phao and has mixed with great amount of Somdej WRK old powder. I highly recommend this for newbies or anyone that likes somdej.

I only recommend 2 phims for this batch. Phim Ork Ruang Hua bai sri or the other phim with protruded chest.

Many years ago, a thai friend taught me to collect amulet with standard material and standard phim to learn and even if it costs a little more. This principal i follow till now. This amulet is one such example.

 

 

Benjapakee - Somdej wat ket chaiyoh pim kheng morn (4 certs-1,1,2,4)

Second piece of phra benjapakee.

Somdej Ket Chaiyoh made by somdej puttarjahn Toh of wat Rakhang. Similar sacred powder used as in WRK n BKP.

Entry level pim. Submitting for competition this May Bitech bangna. Condition considered good for a phra older than 150 years old.

2nd placing cert at sriracha samakom competition on 27 April n champion in yesterday chantaburi competition. 3 May.

3. 2524 Pim phra rod lp thuat,  nur wahn. Big head mold. 2x champion.

4. Lp phoo, 245x somdej pim than khoo kleng khlom, Wat Inn, nur phong- 1x champion (previously) n 1x 4th placing.

Pantip sorng 20 April 2557 competition

Big competition ceremony organized by samakorm . Crowded n full. Many submission. Ticket revenue 36 million thb. ..can u imagine the number of submission n participants?  Now u understand why they organise this so frequently.

Ok, this aside.

Submitted 10 pieces of amulets this round. Some to check authenticity n some want to get cert. I m really sad about the result. Even though all accepted. Meaning no fake.

I expect I got some cert for my lp tae khun phen n 2506 lpt wat prasart.  I submitted 2 pieces Lp tae first batch khun phen n yet none get any placing. Hai. ..it seems many submission n the quality of submission is unexpected to me this round.

Luang Pu Poo (LP Poo) of Wat Inn - Disciple of Somdej Puttajarn Toh (Wat Rakhang)

 

 

Biography:
LP POO was born in B.E. 2373 at Tak Province. At the age of 6, he was ordained as novice ar Ta Koy Temple. Later on, he moved on to Wat inn (formerly known as Wat Bang khum prom)

He studied meditation and incantation under Somdej Putarjarn Toh of Wat rakhang. He was considered one of the most popular and favourite students of Somdej Toh. On several occasions, they went on tudong and pilgrimage to various places.

In the village, there was a story  with many eye witness of villagers that LP Pu went into a pond to take a bath due to the hot temperature. At that moment, villagers shouted at him as the pond was known with a big and fierce crocodile. The crocodile killed many people before. LP Pu ignored their warning, and went straight on. True enough, the crocodile came and instead of hurting Lp Pu, it used its jaw to rub against his body 3 times on each sides and swam away peacefully. LP Pu was chanting incantation. Villagers were shocked to witness this and from then on looked for LP Pu when they had any problem.

Why LP Pu was famous among seasoned collectors?
1. LP Pu was the most favourite student of Somdej Toh and had learned incantation directly from the master
2. Very strong psychic power and charisma, respected by many devotees.
3. His amulets contained mixture of all 5 types of sacred powder obtained from Somdej Toh (Wat Rakhang)
4. His amulets are well known for ncreasing charm, loving kindness, escaping from dangers and  prosperity.

Sharing my third piece of LP Pu, Wat Inn, Somdej Nur Phong.

The most popular pim for taan koo cost >100,000 thb.

The one shown above is Pim Taan koo khen klom. Round arm pim already considered rare according to the lp Pu Red book. Furthermore, the somdej i have, has special mystical symbol behind. According to the book, one in thousands of lp pu somdej has symbols behind the phra. So, this piece shown is double rareness.

I am fortunate enough to meet Mr. Sama Klong Sam, the judge for nur phong niyom and banjapakee. He personally verified this piece for me in Saraburi Samakorm competition.

Somdej Nai Phau, 2495, Wat Inn (pim hua bai Sri) (3rd Placing)

In B.E.2495, Police-General Phau Sriyanonth gathered many guru monks and obtained many special amulets to create one of the best mass-chanted Somdej in Thai amulets history. This batch of Somdej was consecrated under his patronage in Wat Indraviharn, Bangkok and were hence named after him as Somdej Naiphau.

Originally, Somdej Phra Buddhacharn Nuam of Wat Anongkaram was elected to be the president of the ceremony but due to him falling ill at that period of time, Luang Pu Nak, Wat Rakhang, was selected to represent him instead.

The materials collected consisted of:

1. Broken fragments of Somdej Phra Buddhacharn Toh Somdej amulets from Wat Rakhang and Wat Bangkhunphrom.
2. Filings of Phra Kring Wat Suthat that were consecrated in B.E.2485.
3. Somdej amulets that were given out by Luang Pu Poo, Wat Inn.
4. Phong wiset that were leftover by Luang Phor Doem, Wat Nongpho, Nakhonsawan.
5. Chanted powder by Luang por Sod of Wat Pak Nam, Bangkok
6. Broken-pieces of Somdej Wat Sam Pherm, Bangkok
7. Consecrated powder by Luang por Pheur of Wat King Kaew, Samutphakan
8. Many types of powder specially donated by many famous monks, etc.

The types of materials that were used to bind and mix into these raw materials were:

1. Nur Phong Kesorn (Powder of crushed jasmine flower petals)
2. Nur Phong Kasen Boon Nak (Special powder named after Naga)
3. Nur Phong Kesorn Bua Luang (Powder of crushed Lotus flower petals)
4. Nur Phong Kaset Pikoon (Powder of a type of farm wood)
5. Poon Kao (Limestone powder)
6. Kradat Faang (Rice paper)
7. Namman Maphrao (Coconut oil)
8. Dinsor Phong (Chalk powder)
9. Nam Oi (Sugarcane), etc.

On 22nd October, B.E.2495, the group of 14 monks who gathered for a mass chanting to chant on the materials of the amulets were:

1. Phra Thep Wae Tee, Wat Sam Phraya
2. Phra Pawana Koht, Wat Paknam
3. Phra Rat Molee, Wat Rakhang
4. Phra Pawana Wikrom, Wat Rakhang
5. Phra See Somphot, Wat Suthat
6. Luang Phor Chaeng, Wat Bangpang
7. Phrakru Winai Ton, Wat Samphanthawong
8. Phrakru Sompanyop Rakat, Wat Prodges
9. Phra Acharn Plee, Wat Suan Ploo
10. Phrakru Arkom Soonthorn, Wat Suthat
11. Phra Palad Pleang, Wat Ganya Nimit
12. Phra Acharn Baideega Banyat, Wat Suthat
13. Phrakru Sung, Wat Indraviharn
14. Phrakru Mongkhol Wichit, Wat Anongkaram

The amulets were using various moulds which produced a total of 84,000 pieces and were all individually hand cut using gold knives. The amulets were collected in trays and were kept under shade, not under sunlight, to be dried under natural conditions.

After all the amulets were finally moulded, they were placed in the Bosth by the committee who were in charge and were surrounded by auspicious candles that were placed in the 8-directions. The candles were watched over by committee members on a rotational duty to prevent the candles from burning out or blowing out.

Those who were there witnessed the beautiful glow of the candlelight illuminating the amulets and the place was serene and solemn.
Offerings were made to a big photograph of Somdej Phra Buddhacharn Toh that was placed in the hall to invite him to witness and preside over the blessing ceremony.

On 5th November, B.E.2495, a 2nd mass chanting was to be performed on the completed amulets prior to distribution to the public. At the auspicious hour of 4.20pm, the victory candles were lighted and all the monks, phrams (white-robed Acharns) and devotees bowed down and paid respects to the Buddha and the president of the ceremony.

After a short chanting to the Buddha and chanting the invitation to the Devas, a speech was delivered by the president of the cermony. The motive of making these batch of Somdej amulets was to distribute and remind people of the Buddhism and to follow its doctrine. It was also to carry on the lineage of Somdej Phra Buddhacharn Toh of his famous Somdej amulets. Consecrating a big quantity was to allow as many people as possible to have a piece that contains the legacy of Somdej Phra Buddhacharn Toh.

After the speech was delivered, a group of 12 monks who were invited to perform mass chanting on the amulets participated in the main chanting to complete the consecration of the amulets. They were:
